It’s Florida, it’s suppose to stay warm! That’s what my assistant /office manager explains to me anyway. The weather is getting a little chilly these days, I tell her the holidays are around the corner, it should be chilly!
The cold front that pushed through the Tampa Bay yesterday brought a tornado watch, severe thunderstorm warnings and a cold front that has brought the coldest temperatures right in time for the Thanksgiving holiday season.
Tonight, counties to the north of us are under freeze warnings. While the Tampa Bay area will remain in the mid 30s to low 40s. BURR!
My Office Manager, Erica Shockley, and her take on the weather today…
Your in France on a family vacation, you had a wonderful dinner, and your family decides to take a walk around the city. A kind Frenchman has volunteered to take a picture of your family in front of the Eiffel Tower. It’s an awesome picture with the Eiffel Tower light up brightly behind you. You post it to your FB, Instagram, Twitter, everyone likes it commenting how great it is.
You arrive home to find out that you are now your being fined for copy right infringement! Say what! Oh yes, it’s not a hoax, we have checked. Paris has warned Tourist they could be fined for taking pictures of the Eiffel Tower in the dark, because the lights are copyrighted.
France’s reason for the law, because the lights are “art” and it’s property of the artist. The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889, and is deemed public property and is free to be photographed in the daylight. But, even if it’s your own photo and you post it on your social networking sites its illegal.

Big Bend Power Station in Apollo Beach delivered reliable electricity to the community for 16 years before the commercial operation of Big Bend Unit 4 in 1986. That year, people started seeing manatees in large numbers in the power station’s discharge canal, where saltwater – taken from Tampa Bay to cool Unit 4 – flowed, clean and warm, back to the bay. When Tampa Bay reached 68 degrees or colder, the mammals would seek out this new refuge. The Manatee Viewing Center was soon born. Today, Big Bend’s discharge canal is a state and federally designated manatee sanctuary that provides critical protection from the cold for these unique, gentle animals. Riverview Schools could see a change in boundary lines for the 2015-2016 school year. If your child attends Riverview High School or Was Bay High Schools, this is for you.
Hillsborough County Public Schools
Proposed Riverview and East Bay High Schools Student Reassignment
On August 2015, Hillsborough Public Schools will open an addition at Lennard High School located at 2342 E. Shell Point Road in Ruskin, FL. Designed to provide space for new growth in the area, the addition will also offer some relief to the currently overcrowded East Bay High School.
The attendance boundaries of Lennard, East Bay, Spoto, Riverview, and Brandon High Schools will be impacted to balance enrollment among the high schools. Some students, currently assigned to specific areas of East Bay and Riverview High Schools, are proposed to be reassigned to Lennard, Spoto, Brandon and Riverview High Schools. These changes will be effective for the school year starting August 2015.
Current 11th graders, incoming 12th graders, will be allowed to remain at their current high schools.
PROPOSED BOUNDARIES ARE NOT FINAL UNTIL SCHOOL BOARD APPROVAL ANTICIPATED TO OCCUR IN EARLY 2015
Two meetings will be held for the community to review and provide input to staff on the proposed boundary changes. You may attend EITHER meeting since the same information will be available at both meetings.

December 11th, 2014 at East Bay High School Cafeteria 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Why drive to the beach when you could have a lagoon in your community? We aren’t talking about swampy lagoons, think more of being at a sandy caribbean beach.
Metro Development Group is partnering with Crystal Lagoons Corp. to bring the giant swimming pools or “lagoons” to four planned communities in Hillsborough and Pasco counties. The first is set to break ground at the end of the year.
The four communities will have pools that will range from 5 to 10 acres. Metro Communities gave an example to get a sense of scale for these gigantic pools, an Olympic-size swimming pool is only 0.3 acres. The lagoons won’t come close to the original Crystal Lagoon at the private resort, San Alfonso del Mar, in Chile. The resort currently and had held the world record since 2007 for the largest pool in the world at 3,323 ft long, covering 19.77 acres.
The South Shore areas of Tampa Bay like Brandon, Valrico, Riverview, Apollo Beach, Ruskin it’s a only a short drive to the beaches. These lagoons will offer amenities like beach cabanas for adults, six to eight foot deep water for teens to do water sports, zero-entry for kids to walk out into the water, kayak, paddle board, and swim all in the same lagoon. Why pack your car with beach gear, leaving early in the morning to make sure you find parking, then unload the kids and drag your cooler across the sand when you can have this in your community?
How are communities going to keep them clean? How will the communities afford the up keep? Easy, they are self-cleaning. Fernando Fischmann, biochemist and real estate developer, developed the technology that maintains large bodies of crystalline fresh salt or brackish water at low costs. Through and automatic process which uses pulses and ultra sonic filtration technology avoiding chemicals for purification. The energy usage in the lagoons’ technology is 50 times less than used by traditional pools.
John Soliman and Associates will keep you updated on information about the up and coming communities. Visit our website, www.TampaHomeExplorer.com to view homes listed in the Tampa Bay area.

John Soliman and Associates attended a great Veteran’s Day Ceremony at a local Riverview, FL Elementary school. The 5th grade did a great job during their presentation. They had the Veteran’s walk in as the whole school clapped and cheered.
The Riverview High School NJROTC Color Guard presented arms/colors (American Flag and Navy flag) for the program. After the whole crowed did the Pledge of Allegiance and then sang the National Anthem. It was awesome to see the Veteran’s salute all at the same time, even some of the kids in the crowed mimicked them.
The kids get excited over seeing the NJROTC Drill Teams. The Riverview High School NJROTC Unarmed Exhibition Drill Team was first up, they showed precision and team work.
There were fifth graders that shared some of their written honors to the Veteran’s that they had worked on just for the program. You can tell they really worked hard on them. One little girl’s father who was in Veteran’s section had teachers in tears as she wrote her essay about her father and thanking him for everything he has done for our country.
The kids nearly came unglued, they were struck with amazement when they watched the Exhibition Drill Team stunts!
The whole crowed really enjoyed both the Riverview High School NJROTC Exhibition Drill Teams.
At the closing of the ceremony, they hit you hard with Lee Greenwood’s – Proud to be an American. There were tears in teachers, parents, and kids alike. It was absolutely awesome to listen to the kids sing to the song with such proudness!
Did your child have a Veteran’s Day Ceremony at their school? If so we would love to see the pictures or video!
