Happy National Fig Newton Day From John Soliman and Associates

National Fig Newton Day - John Soliman and Associates HomeXpress Realty Inc

Today is National Fig Newton Day, but they no longer exist? Go ahead check for yourself! They are known as Newton’s, the ones you grew up snacking on, no longer exist. 2012, Nabisco now known as a  subsidiary of Mondelēz International dropped the “Fig”.

It just feels like a grammatical error when saying Newton without Fig! But Fig does lack the “ohhh let me have one of those cookies”, it sounds more like a health food. And with other varieties such as strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, and apple cinnamon, I guess you really need a name change.

The scrumptious treat was originally produced by a bakery in Cambridge, Mass. Newton, came from the city that borders Boston. Newtons were called “cakes” until the 1980s when Nabisco changed the labeling to “chewy cookies”.
