Strawberries, shortcake, whip cream, oh my! The Florida Strawberry Festival® is here, time to indulge in delicious Plant City strawberries, ride the Belle City Midway rides, enjoy the live music, and try that strawberry hamburger. Wait.. a what?
Thursday, February 26th – Sunday, March 8th are the dates of this years festival. This year is going to bigger and better than ever as it’s a party to celebrate the 80th Annual Florida Strawberry Festival. Each spring people from all corners of the U.S. come to enjoy exhibits of agriculture, commerce, industry, livestock, fine arts, horticulture, and crafts. The Florida Strawberry Festival is a piece of Americana, beginning in 1930 when members of the Plant City Lions Club conceived the idea of an event to celebrate the bountiful harvest of strawberries. It since has became a tradition to bring communities together through celebration of their harvests.
Top named acts will headline this years Florida Strawberry Festival. Entertainment performances will take place each day at 3:30 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. on the Wish Farms Sound Stage, here is a peek of this years headliners:

Saturday, March 7 – 7:30 – John Legend
Sunday, March 8 – 7:30 – Reba
The festival has special days that you can get your discount admission or wristbands for rides. Such as Saturday, February 28th it’s Free Kids Day! Kids through high school age are admitted for FREE! Hit the midway, Monday (10:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.), Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are Ride-A-Thon Days from noon until 11:00 p.m. where guests can purchase a wristband to ride most mechanical rides for one low price. Both Friday nights are Moonlight Magic from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Both Sundays are Coca-Cola Family Days where guests bring a specially marked Coca-Cola brand can to receive a voucher for $5 off the $25 wristband and ride all day.
Getting back to that strawberry hamburger, yes it’s real. You can enjoy other foods such as, bacon on a stick, Amish Doughnuts, strawberry seasoned french fries and the list goes on of the unusual strawberry flavored foods you can enjoy.
